Terms of Use

Last updated September 12, 2026

The short version

  • Interngro is free for students.
  • You must be 13 or older. If you're under 18, get a parent or guardian's okay first.
  • Be honest, be respectful, and don't misuse the site.
  • Employers must post real, legal opportunities and handle students' information with care.
  • We help you find opportunities, but we don't run them or guarantee results. Tell a trusted adult before meeting anyone, and be careful with anyone who asks for money.

Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using interngro.com, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Interngro.

If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you. By using Interngro, you confirm that they're okay with it.

Who can use Interngro

  • Students must be at least 13 years old.
  • Anyone who creates an employer account must be at least 18 and allowed to post on behalf of their organization.
  • Each account is for one person. Don't make an account for someone else or pretend to be someone you're not.

Your account

Give accurate information, keep your password private, and tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

For students

  • Keep your profile and applications honest.
  • You choose what to share. You never need to give your Social Security number, bank details, or passwords to apply, and Interngro will never ask for them.
  • Talk with a parent or guardian before accepting an offer, especially for an in-person role.

For employers

If you post on Interngro, you agree to:

  • Post only real opportunities you're authorized to offer, with accurate details about the role, pay, location, and hours.
  • Follow every law that applies to hiring and working with minors, including child labor, work permit, minimum wage, unpaid internship, and anti-discrimination rules.
  • Never charge students a fee to apply, interview, or be placed.
  • Never ask students for Social Security numbers, government ID, or bank or payment details before making a formal offer.
  • Use applicant information only to consider that student for your listing. Don't sell or share it, add students to marketing lists, or contact them about anything else.
  • Keep every interaction professional and appropriate for a young person. Don't ask students to meet alone somewhere private or move conversations to personal social media.
  • Delete applicant information once you no longer need it.

We may remove listings or close employer accounts that break these rules, without notice. Employers are responsible for their own listings, hiring decisions, and conduct.

Curated opportunities and other websites

Our curated list includes programs run by other organizations. We choose them carefully, but we don't run them and can't guarantee their details, deadlines, costs, or quality. Recommendations reflect the personal experience of the people who wrote them.

When you follow a link to apply, that organization's own terms and privacy policy apply. Check the details yourself before you apply or pay for anything.

Staying safe

  • Be careful with anyone who asks for money to apply or get a job. Some summer programs charge tuition; if one does, check it out with a parent or guardian before paying.
  • Don't share your Social Security number, bank details, or passwords.
  • Tell a parent or guardian before meeting anyone about an opportunity, and meet in a public place or at the organization's actual workplace.
  • If something feels wrong, stop and tell a trusted adult, then report it to us at hello@interngro.com. If you're ever in immediate danger, call 911.

What you can't do

Don't use Interngro to:

  • Break the law or help anyone else break it.
  • Harass, threaten, bully, or discriminate against anyone.
  • Post fake, misleading, or spam listings, or recruit for anything that isn't a real opportunity.
  • Share someone else's personal information without their permission.
  • Copy or scrape the site, or collect information about other users.
  • Try to get into other accounts, get around our security, or reach data you're not allowed to see.
  • Upload viruses or anything else that harms the site or the people using it.

Your content

You own what you post, like your profile, resume, and listings. By posting it, you let Interngro store it and show it to others as described in our Privacy Policy, only so we can run the site. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for anything we must keep for legal or safety reasons. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

Interngro's content

The Interngro name, logo, and site design belong to us. Please don't copy or reuse them without permission. Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under their own license.

No guarantees

Interngro is free and provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We don't guarantee that you'll get an internship, that listings are accurate, or that employers and programs will act as they say. We don't run background checks on employers.

Limits on our responsibility

As far as the law allows, Interngro and the people who run it aren't responsible for indirect or unexpected losses from using the site, or for what employers, programs, or other users do. If we are found responsible for something, our total responsibility is limited to $100. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law says can't be limited.

Ending your account

You can stop using Interngro at any time and ask us to delete your account, as explained in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other people at risk.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Interngro grows. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell you on the site or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Interngro after that, you accept the updated terms.
