The short version

We use one piece of storage: the token that keeps you logged in. Without it you'd have to type your password on every page.
We don't use advertising cookies, analytics, or any tracking tools.
Nothing we store follows you to other websites.
Because we only use what's strictly necessary to log you in, there's no cookie banner to click through.

What cookies and local storage are

Websites can save small pieces of information in your browser. Cookies are sent back to the website with every request. Local storage stays in your browser until something clears it. Both are ways for a site to remember something between pages.

What Interngro stores

Your login token. When you log in, our login provider (Supabase) saves a token in your browser's local storage, named something like sb-…-auth-token. It tells Interngro that you're you, so you stay logged in while you move between pages. It's refreshed while you're using the site and removed when you log out. This is strictly necessary: the site can't keep you logged in without it.
Security checks from our host. If we turn on extra protection for unreleased versions of the site, Vercel sets a short-lived security cookie to check that a visitor is allowed in. It isn't used for tracking.

That's the whole list.

What we don't use

No advertising or marketing cookies.
No analytics tools, visitor counters, heatmaps, or session recording.
No social media pixels or "like" buttons.
No cookies that follow you to other websites, and nothing sold to data brokers.

Other websites' content

Our fonts are served from interngro.com, so no outside company sees you loading them.

The one exception is the map. When you open the map view, the map images come from OpenStreetMap's servers, which receive your IP address and the area of the map being shown, like any online map. The map only loads if you open it, and you can use the list view instead. Your own location, if you tap "Near me," stays in your browser.

Why there's no cookie banner

Consent banners exist for cookies that aren't necessary, mainly advertising and analytics. We don't use any, and the login token is exempt because the site can't work without it. If we ever add anything that isn't strictly necessary, we'll ask for your permission first and update this page.

Your choices

You can clear or block storage for this site in your browser settings at any time. If you clear it, you'll be logged out and will need to log in again. Blocking it completely means you won't be able to stay logged in.
